Blog #2 Google Classroom
On google classroom, teachers create their classroom and can have all of their students access it. Teachers can post lessons, videos, documents, links, or stories in an organized day-by-day way that allows studenst to access things easily, quickly, and efficiently whetehr they are in the classroom or not. It enhances the communication teachers have with stuenst and parents by sending emails, posting to the mainstream, providing direct feedback, and private comments on assignments. This turns instruction into a very engaging form, allowing students to collaborate with each other, engage in group assignments, and allow studenst to take more ownership. This is also perfect for in-person classes and when a school must be at home as well because all studenst can access the same thing and remain in contact with the teacher.
Here is a tutorial of how to use Google classroom if beginning for the first time

In my experience, the fourth-grade students in the classroom I’m placed in use it every day to access links to videos, videos for them to watch, documents for collaborative group work, and see due dates. In our classroom, they worked together on a research project where they used google classroom to access a link for google slides where they created a presentation on a type of rock and presented it to the class. They also have used links to a history “see and write” where they can individually work on history during our center time in the afternoon while others are working on other material. Students also can communicate to the tecaher as well as vice versa when students are home.
Google classroom is perfect for the communication aspect of the TLC framework. It is also very good for accessibility so that students can begin different parts of the lessons. It is beneficial to all parts of the 7 events of instruction.

Hi Kylie,
ReplyDeleteI remember using this in high school for my classes. We were able to use this and at the time I felt like this was a really neat way of keeping track of certain assignments or things the teachers wanted us to do. Im not sure if I would use this for an elementary class but I would definitely do it for a higher grade level.
